Recipe: Jessica’s Banana Bread
Summary: Banana bread recipe that I’ve been making for years.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup applesauce
- 2 eggs
- 3 overripe (brown) bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups bread flour (half white, half wheat)
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla (or a package of vanilla sugar)
- spices to taste (Pumpkin Pie Spice was my favorite in the US, in Germany Pflaumenmus Gewürze are good)
- nuts or raisins to taste
Instructions
- Mix everything together
- Pour into greased/papered cake or muffin form
- Cook at 350°F/175°C, for a cake about 45-60 minutes, normal muffins about 15-30, and mini muffins about 10
